Abstract

The possibilities of using aerial photographs in detection and monitoring of landslides are described in this paper. The methodical process of landslide identification on aerial orthophotos is demonstrated in places situated in drainage area of Sance water reservoir. The effect of interpretation is improved by the aid of photographs of the same area taken at different date (repeated photography). The results of interpretation are verified in the field. The method is based on presumption of differences in reflectance of bare land (soil without vegetation, rocks) and vegetation (forest, shrub, grassland). The procedure was checked with aerial photographs taken in the years 1986, 1992, 2000, 2003.
