Abstract

The paper presents first results of a research focused on radiocarbon dating of barrier depressions related to ancient rock falls in the Bohemian Switzerland National Park. The oldest registered dates were 5490 ± 125 14C years BP and 5650 ± 40 14C years BP, respectively. The most abundant periods of rock fall events were observed at the end of Atlantic, during Early Subboreal and Subboreal/Subatlantic transition, in time of relatively dry and continental climate.
