Abstract

Fossiliferous intraformational breccias within the lower part of the Zlíchov Formation (Lower Devonian, Zlíchovian stage) are confined to the SE part of the Prague Basin. The breccias are deposits of mudflows consisting of the material transported from a coral reef. The latter was probably located on the present territory of Prague and was built up on a tectonic high extending across the Basin. The observed slump structures testify to a gravitational transport towards SW.
