Abstract

The old mining works according to the Czech Mining Act is a legal term for an abandoned mining site. The Ministry of Environment is responsible for public safety of these works. The safety regime devised for the old mining work must have periodical control system, which could not be completely provided by mining companies in long term. The Ministry of Environment has delegated the Czech Geological Survey and Czech Geological Survey - Geofond for the pilot project, which brings, apart from on-site revisions of the old mining works, the new methodology that fulfills the mining directions and safety for people.
