Abstract
The amphibolites from the Chýnov area form relatively abundant intercalations and irregular lenses together with marbles in the two-mica gneisses of the Varied Group of the Moldanubian Zone. According to their modal compositions plagioclase-bearing amphibolites can be recognized with variable content of epidote and pyroxene. These amphibolites are probably a metamorphic equivalent of tholeiitic volcanics with tectonomagmatic features of the within plate basalts and/or middle oceanic ridge basalts (MORB).
