Abstract

The area of the map sheet at 1:25 000 scale 22-211 Příbram represents an integral part of a larger denudation region of the Benešov upland. Because of its rather dynamic relief no typical loess accumulations are present, except for local colluvio-aeolian sediments. Other genetic types present are colluvial, fluvial and deluvio-fluvial sediments of small thicknesses. Practically all of them are of Late Pleistocene to Holocene age. The thickest are the colluvial sediments reaching maximum up to 10 m in thickness. But the exact assessment of thickness is problematic in places where these sediments pass gradually into the weathered residue of the bedrock. Anthropogenic deposits are represented by large dumps produced by several centuries lasting mining activities.
