Abstract

In the surroundings of the Great Moravian site Břeclav-Pohansko the aeolian of the Great Moravian site Břeclav-Pohansko the aeolian sand overlying the Upper Pleistocene fluvial gravel and sand of the Morava River valley terrace shows features typical for this area. The sand dunes are dated to Late Glacial and have been proved traces of Mesolithic to Slavonic settlements. The youngest Holocene is represented by overbank silts and loams (flood loams).
