The protected locality Jezero - palynological and palaeoalgological research
Abstract
The results of palynological, palaeoecological and geological investigations are described in this paper. The locality is situated near former Vracov lake in the South Moravia. Biostratigraphical analysis clearly shows the organic sediments to have started forming in the Late Glacial period, according to the classification of Firbas. The evolution continued in the Preboreal period (with hiatus) to the Sub-Atlantic period. It means that the sediments of considerable parts of the Boreal and Sub-Boreal periods must have been removed during an erosional event.
