Abstract

Slabs of coarse-grained sandstone found within the lacustrine sequence of grey clays at Zahájí (Cretaceous, Zliv Formation) yielded ichnofossils "Monomorphichnus" isp. (presumably swimming traces of larger vertebrates) and Planolites isp. (feeding and locomotion traces of invertebrate in-fauna). The present report is the first description of trace fossils and bioturbation from the Southern Bohemian Cretaceous/Tertiary Basins.
