Abstract

During the geological mapping project - sheet Olomouc we have paid attention to the geology of the Palaeozoic in the city of Olomouc and its close vicinity. In addition, and extensive borehole database was also studied due to weak exposure of the older formations and a significant Neogene to Quarternary sedimentary cover. A new occurrence of fresh-water sedimentary development of the Pliocene-Pleistocene was found in the historical centre of city, which had never been reported from this area so far.
