Adding a Page Path item

Use the following steps to add a page path to a page. You can choose the number of levels for the path, and the character that separates the path levels.

You must be logged on as a page owner or an authorized user with the appropriate page or item-level privileges to add items.

To add a Page Path item to a specific page:

  1. Navigate to the page on which you want to add the item.

    Note: If you do not see the page that you want to work with, you may not have the appropriate page access privileges. See your page group administrator to gain access.

  2. Switch to Edit mode.

  3. Click in the region in which you want to add the item.

    Note: If (the add item icon) does not display next to the region, the region may be a portlet region (and may contain portlets). In this case, you cannot add items to this region.

  4. From the Built-In Navigation Item Types list, choose Page Path.

    Note: If this item type does not appear in the list, contact your page group administrator. Your administrator selects which item types to display here.

  5. Click Next.

  6. Enter the number of Path Levels to display for the page path item. Enter 0 to show all levels, enter 1 to show one level, enter 2 to show two levels and so on. If you were to create the following:

    Then, if you added a page path item to the Events page and entered 1 for the page level, the page page item appears as:

    Marketing: European Marketing: Events

    If you enter 2 for the page level, the page path item appears as:

    Marketing: Global Marketing: European Marketing: Events.

  7. Enter the character to use between page levels in the Path Element Separator field. If you enter a colon (:), the page path item appears as:

    Marketing: Marketing Home Page: Events Page

  8. Click Finish.
