Institute of Geology at Tallinn University of Technology (IGTUT), Estonia
The Institute of Geology at TUT is a former institute of Estonian Academy of Sciences. At the present time it is a governmental institution financed by Estonian Ministry of Education and Research. Institute consists of three departments (Bedrock Geology, Quarternary Geology and Collections), including four laboratories. Our scientists (44 from 75 employers) working in the frame of seven thematic groups have wide scientific interests and supervise (participate) the number of scientific and applied projects. Their fields of study are lithology, palaeontology, startigraphy, geochemistry, rock physics, petrology, mineralogy, geological modelling, hydrogeology and environment. As result of research and international collaboration a number of high-level international publications as well as M.Sc. and Ph.D. thesis appear every year.
