The Faculty of Mining, Geology & Petroleum Engineering (RGNF) consists of several institutes, jointly teaching three studies – Mining & Geotechnics, Geology, and Petroleum engineering. There are also post-graduate and PhD programmes in these fields. The staff consists of 52 professors, 23 assistants and 27 other teaching collaborators. Apart from the primary activity in high education, they are usually engaged both in exploration and research activities funded by government (25 active projects) and in various expert tasks for other investors. A wide range of activities are related to the principal fields of research: mining (blasting, soil and rock mechanics, mine completion, open pit exploitation etc.), geology (geological mapping, structural & petroleum geology, engineering geology, hydrogeology, geophysical prospecting, mineral deposits, raw materials), and petroleum engineering (drilling techniques, well fluids, reservoir development, management of HC reserves, production of HC’s & geothermal water, gas management, safety techniques & protection of environment). A review of BOSNIA-HERCEGOVINA will be carried out by the University of Zagreb in collaboration with national parties.
