Training experts of the Iranian Geological Survey in field mapping techniques

The project was implemented in the spring of 2007 and is scheduled to last for 18 months. The objective is to compile four basic geological maps at a scale of 1: 25 000, together with several special thematic maps and to train Iranian geologists in mapping techniques. The outcome will be geological, environmental, geomorphological and hydrogeological maps, and also maps of natural hazards and geochemical anomalies for the purpose of mineral exploration. Laboratory analyses are to be made by the laboratories of both the Iranian and Czech Geological.Surveys and the analytical procedures will be audited so that the results can be reconciled and unified.
