Data management

The CGS pays a great attention to the efficiency with which data is processed. The major aims of data management at the CGS are:

• to reduce barriers to free and rapid sharing of information inside the organization
• to optimize the efficiency with which data can be acquired from external sources
• to ensure reliable recording and safe storage of information in the CGS data store
• to enable open and efficient provision of information and data to government authorities, professional organizations and the wider public (required by the EU directive INSPIRE) following international standards (WMS, download services WFS and ATOM feed, CS-W, and GeoSciML).
