Radon programme

The Radon Programme of the Czech Republic is coordinated by the State Office for Nuclear Safety.on interministerial level. The interest of state on lowering the radiation exposure of citizens is embedded in The Governmental Decision No 594 on Radon Programme of the Czech Republic and its Action Plan for 2010 – 2019. The activities of Radon Programme are supported by the Ministries of Environment, of Industry and Trade, of Regional Development, of Health, of Finance and of Agriculture. The expertise background is performed by researchers from the Czech Geological Survey, from Charles University – Faculty of Science, National Radiation Protection Institute, National Institute for Nuclear, Chemical and Biological Protection, Czech Technical University and private companies. Regional administrators coordinate the activities on regional level.

Following legislative acts and decrees support the multidisciplinary activities of Radon Programme of the Czech Republic:

For public use the State Office for Nuclear Safety has prepared the web pages http://www.radonovyprogram.cz/ (in Czech), gathering all recent information on the activities of Radon programme, practical procedures and advices for radon measurements, decreasing the radon concentrations in newly built houses and remediations in old ones. Information contats are given to institutions contributing to radioprotection of citizens.
