Mgr. Magda Koubová, a member of the X-ray Diffraction Laboratory, defended her Ph.D. thesis "Mineralogical, Petrographical and Geochemical Study of Sediments and Soils - Critical Evaluation of Efficient Methods for Determination of Their Real Mineralogical Composition" at Masaryk University, Faculty of Science, Brno (supervisor Doc. RNDr. Josef Zeman, CSc.).

Dear colleagues,
I am both pleased and honoured to announce the launch of the brand new web pages, designed for our Department of Rock Geochemistry by Frantisek Laufek. In his effort he has not been alone, leaning upon the reference database maintained by Vojtech Erban, as well as texts written by numerous contributors. I would like to thank to everyone who has helped to these pages to materialize.
