Abstract: The old mining works according to the Czech Mining Act is a legal term for an orphan mining site. The Ministry of Environment is responsible for public security of these works. The security construction of the old mining work must have periodical control system, which could not be provided by present mining company for long time. The Ministry of Environment delegated the Czech Geological Survey and Czech Geological Survey – Geofond for the pilot project, which brings apart from field revisions of the old mining works the new methodology that fulfills the mining directions and security for people.
