Download services
Download services (as defined by the INSPIRE directive) are web services enabling copies of spatial datasets, or parts of such sets, to be downloaded and, where practicable, accessed directly.
|
Two types of download service are acceptable in terms of INSPIRE (see technical guidance document for download from the official INSPIRE webpages): - pre-defined dataset download service (using ATOM feed)
- direct access download service (using WFS with extended capabilities)
|
CGS chose the option of data publication via ATOM feed. Only in some international projects the WFS option has been demanded (see below). To be able to read the ATOM feed format, you either need a web browser that can read it, or a specialized client software - for example Q-GIS, which enables reading of the ATOM feed via plug-in INSPIRE Atom client, developed by Jurgen Weichand. ATOM feed is intended for machine processing and most of the current web browsers do not allow to display it directly in an appropriate form. However, add-ins can be used for its correct display.

Data download (ATOM feed)
CGS is continuously working on publishing datasets harmonized according to the INSPIRE requirements. The list of currently published datasets in the INSPIRE GML or Google KML formats can be found on this link: INSPIRE data of the Czech Geological Survey / ATOM feed
