State Geological Survey
in the Czech Republic

In the wording of the Act No. 62/1988 Coll. (called On Geological Works), the Czech Geological Survey, along with the CGS – Geofond, have been charged to functioning as a leading state geological survey of the Czech Republic. Following their research and developmemnt plans, the Czech Geological Survey’s staff members realize many an important step as follows:

• acquiring and assesing geoscience information of the Czech Republic territory/areas and making them accessible to the public
• facilitating orientation in the country’s political and social affairs, providing the staff members’/experts’ informed help
• promoting the government’s environmental policy
• reviewing and accomplishing expert activities in all geoscience disciplines
• focusing on solving the targets of the raw material policy of the Czech Republic
• planning, performing and evaluating the geological works
