Department 580 – Publishing Department of the Czech Geological Survey
The Publishing Department of the Czech Geological Survey is the biggest publisher of geological literature in the Czech Republic. It specializes in professional publications devoted to individual fields of the Earth sciences, on geological and related thematic maps at different scales as well as titles on geological themes of general interest, which will inform the wider public and appeal to the younger generation. The scope of publications ranges widely from the results of systematic research carried out in the Bohemian and Carpathian domains in the Czech Republic to the findings of specialist teams working in different parts of the world. Publication of its scientific work was perceived as an essential task of the CGS and was embodied in the statute of foundation.
