Department 540 – Department of the Mineral Information System

The department is responsible for the compilation of geological documentation and the results of geological works in professional databases, research on raw materials and providing information about the resources of raw materials in the Czech Republic. By authority of the MoE it fulfils some other tasks under the terms of current laws and regulations. It provides information to the Ministry of Industry and Trade for use in framing national and regional raw materials policies, strategies for the extraction of raw materials, and the national energy plan. The department also participates on solution of research projects and tasks from mineral resources field.
